Polished stainless steel basket 'La Stanza dello Scirocco' by Mario Trimarchi
Rarely has a fruit bowl made such a statement on a table! The “La Stanza dello Scirocco” (the scirocco room) fruit bowl is made up of geometrically irregular ‘blown up’ stainless steel pieces of various sizes that are connected in an even more erratic way. The abstract design of the basket, created by Italian architect Mario Trimarchi for Alessi, is inspired by the Sicilian storm wind called ‘Scirocco’. The special room in large Sicilian country houses that serves as a shelter from the strong winds is also named accordingly. This is an exquisite but minimalist centrepiece and a beautiful gift for various occasions.
